Our Hybrid ACMA Respiratory & Gastrointestinal Program is perfect for the CMA who is ready to advance their career without stepping away from work. Designed for busy healthcare professionals, this flexible course allows students to complete training while maintaining their current schedule.

The program includes 7 hours of online coursework and 5 hours of in-person skills training, scheduled to fit your availability. Students will have up to 2 weeks to complete all course requirements.

Throughout the course, students will learn the skills and knowledge needed to safely administer medications through gastric tubes and nebulizers while understanding proper infection control, safety procedures, documentation, and resident monitoring.

Topics covered include:

  • Gastric tube medication administration
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Oxygen safety and precautions
  • Infection control practices
  • Identifying complications and reporting concerns
  • Documentation requirements
  • Resident safety and monitoring during treatments

This course combines flexible online learning with hands-on instruction to help CMAs build confidence, expand their clinical skills, and increase their value in today’s healthcare field.

Diabetes

 

Our Hybrid ACMA Diabetes Program is designed for the CMA who is ready to expand their skills and provide advanced diabetic care—all without disrupting their work schedule. This flexible program allows students to continue working while completing specialized training that prepares them for higher-level resident care responsibilities.

The course includes 16 total training hours, combining online instruction with hands-on clinical and skills training. Students will complete coursework designed to fit their schedule, with flexible access that allows learning during the day, evenings, or weekends. In-person training sessions are scheduled to meet student needs while ensuring competency and confidence in diabetic care procedures.

Throughout the course, students will learn how to safely monitor and care for residents with diabetes while understanding the importance of proper observation, reporting, safety, and medication administration.

Topics covered include:

  • Diabetes basics and disease management
  • Blood glucose monitoring
  • Recognizing signs and symptoms of hypo- and hyperglycemia
  • Diabetic emergencies and appropriate response
  • Insulin administration and safety
  • Infection control and resident safety
  • Documentation and reporting requirements
  • Nutrition, diet, and diabetic care considerations

This course combines flexible learning with practical, hands-on experience to help CMAs build confidence, strengthen their clinical skills, and advance their career opportunities in healthcare.

Both ACMA course options can be completed in as little as 2 weeks—without forcing you to miss multiple days of work like many traditional programs. Unlike courses that require students to sit in class for full-day sessions, our flexible hybrid format allows you to complete training on your schedule.

For the ACMA R/G option, you do not have a state exam. The course has a built-in cumulative exam that you will take. Once you finish the online and in person hours, you will be submitted to OSDH for your certification.

The ACMA Diabetes course does require a state exam. Tuition includes the cost of the first exam. 


 Yes, you must hold an active CMA certification in order to enroll in the course. However, there is no required waiting period after obtaining your CMA certification—you may enroll as soon as you are certified.
